Rimmel Show Off Lip Laquer

Walgreens $4.99
"Out of this World" and "Stellar"

When I picked these up I didn't really read the label, because they looked so cute and I loved the packaging. I thought I was buying really pigmented Lip Glosses, but instead they are more of a liquid lipstick. A few brands have something like this (Wet N Wild and Milani come to mind) and I am not a big fan of this formula.

TOP "Out of this World" is a deep pink with shimmer (I think this was the only one with shimmer)
BOTTOM "Stellar" is a bright fruit punch with no shimmer, but it is shiny.

"Stellar" is muted in these two photos. In person it is BRIGHT. It seems like a fun color, but what with my complexion and my red hair, this color is awful on me.

This is pretty much what "Out of this World" looks like in person. It's just a deep pink with shimmer, not at all exciting. This reminds me of lipsticks that my mom used to wear in the 90's. I hate this color on me.

Both shades feel nice on the lips and are 100% opaque. They apply easily and wear okay. They last a few hours, but they transfer onto everything (straws, food and even hair). I think I just picked bad colors for me, but I don't like these. They look unnatural somehow.

Epic Fail - EOS Lip Balm

I picked up the EOS Lip Balm in Pomegranate Raspberry at Walgreens. On the ride back to my house I opened it up to smell it and this is what I found.
Ha ha, it looks so sad and depressing. The whole top half of the balm is stuck in the lid.
In case you forgot what they are supposed to look like, here is a pic next to my Blueberry one (which I've had for about a month and has become my favorite).

While I could still use this by rubbing my finger in it to apply, I'm going to return and get a new one. Come on, half the fun of EOS Lip Balms is the big dome application.

Borghese Advanced Lash Defining Mascara - Kirkland Signature- Costco Review

This Mascara is sold as a set of two mascaras at Costco for $15.99. As far as I can tell, it only comes in Black. It is not waterproof, and it claims to be a lengthening and volumnizing mascara.

The tube is rectangular, with silver reflective plastic casing. I find it to be very high end looking, except that the material allows for fingerprints to be left behind, and the big fat KIRKLAND etching above the Borghese Logo.

When I first tried this mascara, it was insanely dry and barely coated my lashes. So I ran the wand under the tap, and re-inserted it into the tube and tried it again the next day. This dramatically helped. However, to achieve the claims on the packaging, it takes time. Many, many coats are needed to make my lashes full and long. I like that the mascara is buildable, each layer definitely increases wow factor, I just wish that I didn't need so many coats. I tend to over apply mascara in general because I have thin blonde lashes. So usually 3 coats is good for me. But with this, I used 5 coats it least every time I use it. Needless to say, I will probably run out of it sooner than I would with most mascaras. Perhaps that is why they sell it in a 2-pack (ha ha).

I like that it's a brush and not plastic. Though the shape of the brush makes it really hard to apply to the lower lashes. The wand itself is really long. (I prefer a shorted wand! It makes it easier to control the brush.)

I am wearing this mascara in both of these pictures on different days. It makes a much more dramatic impact when my eyes are closed, rather than open. I think this is because it offers no curling effect. So my lashes are thick, but they are just sticking straight forward. I am not that big a fan of an eyelash curler, so I tend to rely on my mascara to be a serious multi-tasker. If your lashes naturally curl, then this will not be an issue for you.

I will not be purchasing this mascara again. It is an okay mascara, so I will probably use it until it runs out, but I'd rather use Maybelline Falsies or L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara. Both are around the same price point.

Wet N Wild Color Icon Trios

Three's a Party and I'm Seeing Triples

I am not usually a fan of these trios offered by Wet N Wild. Mostly because I find the color in the pan and the color that ends up on my eye are completely different. So I don't trust the color in the package enough to buy them on a regular basis. However, these bright colors were far too intriguing to pass up at $2.99 each. The swatches for both these palettes are far more true to what you see in the pan than other Wet N Wild eye shadows I have tried. All of the shades seem to have a subtle satin finish.

Three's a party is this Black, Red and White combo and is definitely the better of the two for color payoff and texture. The red is amazing quality!!!! Far better then any drugstore eye shadow I have ever tried. The black and white are a bit powdery, but still easy to work with. All swatches in all photos for this palette are made with one swipe over the shadow. Since the white shadow has a satin finish, it could be worn as a highlight under the brow without seeming clownish with more natural eye shadow looks.

I'm Seeing Triples does not supply quite the same quality as Three's a party . It contains a green, blue and magenta eye shadow. The swatches for this palette in all photos was done after multiple swipes over the shadow. The Magenta shade seems to be most wearable, but also the worst to apply. These shadows are still definitely a bargain at this price, and the colors swatched are fun and unique for the drugstore.

Overall, Three's a party is definitely worth the buy. I don't wear super bright eye shadows on a regular basis so it is hard for me to spend upwards of $15 for shadows like Mac and Make Up Forever that offer good brights. So I think these palettes are a great way to expand your bright eye shadow collection that you are only going to use sometimes when these prices so good.
